Dear Gitte,
Thank you so much for the lovely gift of your many days in Paris. Since discovering your blog, I have rationed out the days like so many perfect desserts to be enjoyed. Please post more! I am now into my third rereading of your posts. Your photos are splendid, and your sensibilities and humor are so akin to mine, it is easy to imagine sharing each Parisienne adventure with you. My husband and I lived in Paris for a year with our 5 year old daughter once upon a time more than a decade ago. It was a magical time for us all, but we knew we had only just begun to explore and understand Paris. My daughter is away at college now, and my husband and I will go back to Paris for a few short weeks next month. As you do, we dream of retiring there one day. Perhaps we will be neighbors!
All best wishes,
Ellen
P.S. We have shared our lives with a lovely Scottish fold cat (gone "over the rainbow"), and now have an eight year-old Cairn terrier. You are so right that the Westie/Cairn terrier personality is very independent, just like a cat's! They can, of course, be very loving and comforting as well, especially if they think you need a bit of cheering up. ;-)

I first "met" you on Ourparisforum and have longed to read about your more recent adventures in Paris. Thanks for posting your blog address and thanks for bring such warmth, friendliness, wit and cat-devotion to me once again. The diaries are fantastic, the photos are so wonderful. Thanks thanks.
we're going back to Paris (our second trip) next month and will have your diaries in hand. I'm sorry I've read P & P so many times already - it seems like the perfect accompaniment to a Parisian holiday.

Thank you all for your kind comments ! Annabel, I would feel deeply honoured >>blushing<< to be mentioned on your website. Your book "An Hour from Paris" is no less than fantastic.

Dear Gitte
I have just come across your blog and the description of your visit to Senlis inspired by my book An Hour From Paris. I like it so much that I am putting it on my website, under the section 'Look inside the book'. I hope you don't mind. It will help to give readers a real idea of what it is like to use the book on the ground.
I'm so glad you had such a good time and I hope you enjoy many more trips to Paris.
Best wishes,
Annabel

Hi, I came across your site and read your Samos diary with interest as we are heading there this summer. I really have to say you have the most lovely warm style of writing about your travels and paint a very vivid picture with your words. I have since been back to read your diaries over again and feel that you bring so much of your personality to your diaries. Thank you so much for sharing your experiences and I hope you have another lovely trip to Samos this summer, I cannot wait to read all about it and live it myself for real in August!

Dear Gitte, We were first introduced to your diaries by the owner of the Rue Taine apartment which we rented last year for a month and which we will return to this year in May/June for six weeks. We just love that area . How sad that your husband does not travel with you. We are much older than you but love seeing all the "secret "things together. I wonder if you have been to Picpus Cemetery. If not, mark it down for your next trip also a "secret garden" off Rue Aquebussiers or Rue de Hesse in the 4th.Each night we each write a diary of the days adventures and you would be amazed at how different they can be when read at a later date !!
Kind regards,
Sheila

Gitte -
Since I have known you, I have looked at Paris in a completely different way. You have opened my eyes to the endless possibilities that Paris is. As I read your reports and plan my next trip, I realize that there will never be enough time to really "be" in Paris. The best I can hope for is to capture moments and press them into memories. You do that so well. Thank you, friend.

Gitte - Just thought I'd let you know that now that you are in Paris.....again......, I am constantly thinking about you, and I'm looking forward to reading about your latest adventures. Of course I realize that I'll probably have to be patient, but good things are always worth waiting for.
Hugs and kisses,
Shoesy

Hi Gitte, I thoroughly enjoyed the diary of your recent Paris trip, especially the pictures of "les petits soldats".
I'm much older than you, but it's still such fun to look!
You've given me lots of ideas for my upcoming trip to Paris in October. I also enjoy your comments on TripAdvisor. Keep up the good work!

Hi Debi
Thanks for your kind comments. As to where to stay in Paris, that is a big question ! Because anywhere goes, really.
I suggest you check out some of the numerous threads about "Where to stay" on www.tripadvisor.com Paris Forums.
Or send me an email and we can discuss it further.
Bisous

I have only just started reading your blog about your Paris Adventures - what fun! I went to Paris in Feb., but only for 3 days, a stopover on my way to visit my family in South Africa, and I am smitten with Paris! I loved it. The day I arrived it was snowing - just a little, but enough to make driving a nightmare. Cars were backed up everywhere. By the way, I live in Sitka, Alaska - so I am used to snow. I mostly travel alone, my husband does not travel much - especially to Europe. I am planning to visit my family in South Africa in November, and want to stay over in Paris for at least 5 - 7 days. I stayed in the Latin Quarter, where do you suggest I stay this time? I am 54 and have two grown sons and two grandchildren. I love traveling! I will continue reading your blog now.
Regards
Debi

Gitte! I am so happy to see that you are sharing with all the world your wonderful sense of adventure mixed with your wonderful humour and your incredible gift of prose!
It will be a while before I find myself back in Paris again (sigh)...but I am shooting for a Fall 2011 extended stay.
I have been on Lake Atitlan in Guatemala for 8 months now...leaving for three months in Buenos Aires in mid Sept.
Thank you again for your wonderful site...

Hi Teri - thanks for your kind words. Alas, the cat dozing in the sun is not mine. The picture is borrowed from my favorite catsite www.icanhascheezburger.com.
I live on the southeast side of the island Zealand, overlooking the water (well, there is about 500 metres to the coast, across our neighbour's fields). Location is called Fakse Bugt. It is a nice countryside, but I fear that it can strike you as very rural.

Hi - I love your sense of humor and your sense of adventure. My husband loves Paris so I always go with him, but one day.......I shall go alone!
I also love the photo of your cat laying in the sun. We are thinking about retiring in Denmark and I want the same view from my retirement home as you have in your photo. What water or fjord is this from?
